This policy explains what information OROMODO collects, how we use it, and the choices you have — including your rights under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
Information We Collect
We collect the information you provide when saving a cart, requesting a quote, or completing an order — including your email address, shipping address, phone number, and order details. When you pay by card, payment information is collected and processed directly by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to fulfill and communicate about your order (confirmations, delivery coordination, and support), and to save your cart for later. If you opt in, we'll also send you occasional deals and product updates. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
Consent & Marketing (CASL)
In compliance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), we only send marketing or promotional emails to addresses that have explicitly opted in via a checkbox. Order-related emails (confirmations, cart saves, delivery updates) are sent regardless of marketing opt-in, as they relate directly to a transaction you initiated. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by contacting us directly.
CAN-SPAM Compliance (United States)
For customers in the United States, our marketing emails comply with the CAN-SPAM Act: every marketing email clearly identifies OROMODO as the sender, uses a non-deceptive subject line, includes our contact information, and provides a working unsubscribe link that we honor promptly. Transactional emails related to an order you placed are not marketing and are sent regardless of marketing opt-in status.
Cookies & Similar Technologies
We use essential cookies to keep your cart and currency preference working as you browse, and analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand site traffic. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising or cross-site tracking. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect cart functionality.
Data Sharing
We share information only with the service providers needed to fulfill your order and run our business — for example, Stripe for payment processing, our email provider for transactional and marketing messages, and freight carriers for shipping (name, address, and phone number, as required to schedule and complete delivery). These providers are contractually restricted from using your data for any other purpose. We do not sell your personal information, as defined under the CCPA.
Data Retention
We retain order and cart information for as long as needed to fulfill orders, meet legal and tax obligations, and maintain business records. You may request deletion of your personal information at any time, subject to records we're required to keep by law.
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time, by contacting us at the email below.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and how it's used, the right to request deletion of your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information — we do not sell personal information, so there's nothing to opt out of. OROMODO reserves the right to update this privacy policy at any time. The policy in effect at the time of your interaction with us applies.
